The purpose of this Adoption Agreement (“Agreement”) is to memorialize the terms and conditions of your adoption of the dog described below (the “Dog”). For the Love of Poodles Rescue of Richmond, Virginia (the “Organization”) is a Section 501(c)(3) Virginia nonstock corporation dedicated to the charitable purpose of promoting the prevention of cruelty to animals through providing rescue, care, and placement services for poodles and other dogs, as well as education and training on the proper care and humane treatment of dogs. Full compliance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement are important to the fulfillment of the Organization’s charitable mission, so please review this Agreement carefully before signing below.
By signing below, you (“Adopter”) acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set forth below in order to adopt the Dog. You understand that if you violate any provision of this Agreement or provide false or inaccurate information to the Organization, the Organization shall have the right to reclaim this Dog without refund of the adoption fee or other compensation. This Agreement shall remain in effect for the life of the Dog or until such time as the Dog is no longer under your care and possession.

Terms & Conditions*
- I understand and agree that the Organization makes no express or implied warranty, representation, or promise concerning the age, health, breed, habits, disposition, temperament, or safety of the Dog. I hereby accept the Dog as is, assume all risks and responsibilities associated with the ownership and proper care of the Dog, including without limitation, dog bites and scratches, and I hereby covenant not to sue and fully and completely release, indemnify and hold harmless the Organization, its directors, officers, volunteers, servants, employees, agents, and representatives (and their respective successors and assigns) from and against any claim, cause of action, liability, or expense (including, without limitation, legal fees and expenses) of any sort or nature, whether known or unknown, directly or indirectly arising out of or in connection with the adoption, care, ownership, maintenance, temperament, behavior, actions, or condition of the Dog.
- I agree to pay the Organization the above listed adoption fee simultaneously with the execution of this Agreement. The adoption fee becomes nonrefundable fourteen (14) days following the execution of this Agreement.
- I agree to keep and care for the Dog indoors in a safe and humane manner as a family pet and companion.
- I agree to provide the Dog appropriate food, water, shelter, and veterinary care at all times, such veterinary to include, at a minimum, annual veterinary check-ups and shots and monthly heart worm and flea/tick prevention and grooming.
- I agree to abide by all applicable animal control and leash laws and acknowledge and agree that it is my responsibility to become familiar with such laws and to fully comply with all applicable dog licensing and registration requirements.
- If I conclude that I am no longer able to properly care for the Dog or fully comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement concerning the care and support of the Dog, then I promise to promptly notify the Organization in writing. The Organization shall have the first right to reclaim the Dog at its expense within thirty (30) days of receipt of such written notice.
- I am over eighteen (18) years of age and I enter into this Agreement intending to be legally bound by its terms.
